When pop sensation Christina Aguilera released her latest single "Keeps Gettin' Better" off of her new greatest hits album, she also released a brand new look. Aguilera is no stranger to changing it up, but this time it's sparked a lot of controversy.
Basic story: Aguilera's been getting all kinds of criticism for perhaps copying both the musical and fashion style of recent breakout Electronica/pop star Lady GaGa. When asked to comment on the similarities, Aguilera reportedly claimed not to know whether or not Lady GaGa was a man or a woman, let alone what it dressed like. For her part, Lady GaGa took it in stride, agreeing that she has a bit of an androgynous image.
The similarities are certainly there. Fluorescent white hair with hard cropped front bangs isn't exactly ordinary. Neither is the 80's and futuristic infusion the two seem to be sporting.
Though many celebrity news media seems to be supporting Lady GaGa on the issue, I have to say that Christina works it better.
I mean, for one thing, Christina makes the look wearable. While Lady GaGa often performs in one piece outfits reminiscient of 40's bathing suits with 80's shoulder pads, Christina tones it down a bit. She (or her stylists) seem to have a better grasp on wearability. At several awards shows over the last months she has donned sexy pant suits and little dresses more typical of a pop performer. She then pumps up her image with dramatic makeup and intense space-age accessories, such as moon-man belts and GaGa's signature shoulder pieces.
And another thing, GaGa fans and gossip divas alike won't stop yelling that the look is Lady GaGa's look--she had it first. Um, just because wears a look first does not mean they wear it better. Point in case: Steve Urkle wore suspenders and tight pants way before I did. However, I'm going go ahead and continue to believe that I wear suspenders and tight pants quite a bit better than he does.
That said, on a side note, I have to say that it's a little ridiculous that Christina expects us to believe this is her "personal style." Really Christina? So, last year you were a 1940's soul queen, and now you're a pop diva from the future? Sista' needs to find herself!
Anyways, what do you think? Who wears this performance trend better?

Fucking X-Tina is Copying Lady Gaga :O!! Find Some One Else X-Tina! Lasy Gaga Rocks More Then You!!!!!!
Really, if you can't even spell the insults, please, save the rest of the world from being exposed to it. Also, correct use of the words "then" and "than," as well as not capitalizing every word, is generally helpful.
In all honesty, I think they both bring their own different style into the same "style" If that makes any sense. Also, is it so hard to believe that Christina is changing her style once again toward the "Out-There" kind of look? When she was x-tina she wore crazy stuff too. I think they are both great artists.
Also people need to consider that it may be Christina's stylists creating her ensembles.
Lady GaGa wears it better because it's in her element. Christina did come out at a bad time but she have to say that.
