Sophomore Hollis Daniels is well on her way to achieving her fashion dreams.
With inspirations ranging from Balmain to French royalty, her collections constantly evolve as much as she does. As a member of the Fashion & Beauty Communications Milestone, Daniels is a step ahead of her fashion design classmates.

We sat down with Daniels for a Q&A about life as a fashion student:
What is your long term goal?
"When I was five, I started to design clothing. I would sketch designs and show them to my friends. My family consists of many artists, so it’s not much of a surprise that my goals are art related. As I grew older, I became eager to start my own business. [It] became my number one goal. Fashion is what I live and breathe, and everyday I visualize myself being successful and owning my own fashion line. Once that happens, I will move on to perfumes, menswear and eventually makeup."
What got you into fashion?
"I love being able to show the world who I am through my clothing. This drive to be unique inspired me to start designing clothing for women."
What is your inspiration for your line?
"My inspiration varies from collection and season. My past inspirations have included Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, motorcycle chic and French royalty."
Daniel's inspirations are diverse, ranging from Hendrix to royalty.
Have any of your designs been featured anywhere or will be in the future?
"Yes, my designs have been featured in my high school magazine and have been shown in local art galleries in my town."
Who is your favorite designer, and why?
"My favorite designer is Balmain. Balmain inspires me to create unique combinations in clothing. His jackets are incredibly detailed, and I can tell every garment in his collections are designed as works of art. Balmain’s runway shows have a certain intensity that inspire my future runway shows."

Daniels is determined to accomplish her career dreams, and it shows. We plan to keep you updated throughout the upcoming school year to see how she has progressed.
