Biz Buzz: NYFW, the last time in the park

Biz Buzz keeps its fabulously accessorized ear to the ground to provide breaking fashion news coverage.

It is that time of year again! Twice a year, designers pull out their latest collections for shows in New York to inspire those within the fashion industry. For years, Bryant Park has been the holding place for the extravagant events, but this year (Feb. 11-18) marks the last time the shows will take place there. This fall, the shows will move to Lincoln Center.

As always, viewers can expect a wide selection of designers to be featured, with the theme this year being charity. Naomi Campbell is scheduled to have superstars walk the runway for Haiti relief. The Red Dress Collection will also host pieces to raise awareness for heart disease, which is the number one killer of women in the U.S. according to the Center for Disease Control.

Since 2009, New York Fashion Week has been branded as the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, one of four major fashion weeks held in the city.
