The Craze: ‘70s Glamour Galore

The Craze is a trend report bringing you the latest (and, duh, the greatest) in beauty and style.

In past fashion collections, we’ve seen the boom of the ‘20s and ‘30s as wells as the comeback of the ‘80s. But this time, it’s the 1970s that are having their moment. There are many components to the ‘70s glamour look that we will share with you, and just in time for the warmer weather. There are key pieces that can take your look from ‘70s boho to a more sophisticated, sleek ‘70s look.

There’s a confidence to this trend that’s key. Even the downplayed looks need to be worn with an air of sensuality and independence. The boldness that we associate with the ‘70s is in the floppy felt hat, exotic jewels and the super high pair of platforms.

During the day, it’s all about clean but voluminous silhouettes and natural ‘70s color palettes. Try wearing:

· High waisted wide-leg pants.

· Bow blouses in fabrics like silk and satin.

· Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Add some beaded accessories for a real ‘70s effect.

· You can never go wrong with a jumpsuit!

Once the moon starts to shine, turn the ‘70s sophisticate into a glamour goddess:

· Choose high sheen fabrics like silk or lurex and anything with metallic.

· Long, graceful gowns with draping, low necklines or dress slits scream ‘70s glamour.

· Pair a ruffled shirt under a blazer or tuxedo jacket.

Don’t forget the accessories they are the essentials that complete the ‘70s look:

· Statement leather belts worn over a skirt or dress really gives your outfit the ‘70s feel.

· Wear lots and lots of jewelry! But keep it simple for a boho look.
