Just a thought

I often wish I could design and make my own clothes. I love clothes and I am always looking at new stuff. And if I see something I really like--I'm totally willing to buy. But honestly, I rarely do see anything I like. I'm insanely picky. Sometimes, for study breaks, I'll go out to the mall and just look around to see what new stuff the is out. I really don't care for a lot of what people like me--career-starting-school-going-women-in-their-early-twenties-with-a-little-money--are supposed to like and want to buy. And what I do like--I can't afford. It all looks drab and canned and formulaic. It's all stuff that looks great on a perfectly formed plastic model, but on me--it fits poorly or doesn't move well or doesn't wash well. Furthermore, it makes me look like everyone else--not like me. And in my mind, the way a person's clothing looks should reflect two things: who a person is and what that person does. I honestly feel like it's really hard to find clothing that does both of those things at a good price. It would be really rad if I could just make my own stuff.
