Idol Fashion

I never really watch American Idol, but this week I happened to catch a bit of one episode. In the episode, Carly Smithson, was singing Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again," and then when it came for the judges' critiques, the subject of fashion came up. While Simon was critiquing her performance, he also critiqued her style. She was wearing this:He said something along the lines of, "At this point in the competition, you really should be dressing better." He pretty much said she wasn't dressing like a star, rather more like a fashion-challenged regular girl. Ahem, isn't that the basis of the show...regular people? Anyways, I hate to say it, but I agreed with Simon. Her outfit was horrendous, but he shouldn't be commenting on fashion choices until after the person is actually chosen as a winner. Then, they can have their own fashion consultant.
