Cuse Closet: Cloudy with a chance of color

Cuse Closet peeks inside the staff's wardrobes to find out where we're going and how good we look getting there.

Today's closet: Kelly Dishner

Kelly Dishner's cheerful colors

This morning I was feeling cheerful until I looked outside and saw yet another gray day. I decided some color was just what I needed. As soon as I opened my dresser, I knew that my metallic rainbow tights would be perfect for the job.

These tights give color and funk to a winter wardrobe. While in low light the tights seem sparkly black, bright lights bring out the rainbow of colors. Although I chose the tights first, I didn’t want them to be the focal point of my outfit. So, I chose a mini skirt that matched the pink and blue of the tights to add a twist. The polka dots and bows on the skirt are feminine and pretty, which I liked as a contrast to the funky tights.

I chose a black long-sleeve shirt and my pea coat because I felt there was already enough noise in the outfit. I did however add a gold headband. Lastly, I put on a pair of mid-calf boots, ready with my metallic tights to brave the gloomy outdoors.
