Mixing chiffon with unique fabrics and bubbling it out in a design is only one of the sophisticated and trendy looks junior fashion design student Milly Diaz developed since she entered the program at SU. Diaz first became involved with fashion design in junior high school.
"My teacher started a paper doll project, and I couldn’t get enough of it," she said. "We had to make clothes for the paper dolls, and by the time the project was over, I just kept doing it. It became a hobby, and then I decided to go to the Visual Performing Arts High School, where I learned more about fashion."

Currently, her designs are based on assignments in her Draping class.
"Everything that we design is created on the body form just to see how fabrics hang, and fit to the body."

Her Dream Job: To be creative director of a company and eventually own her own line.
Why you should look out for her: She was right in the heart of New York helping designers during fashion week.
Her Designer's Confidential: She hates sewing, so she likes buying expensive fabrics just so she can sew better.
