The Orange Carpet: The Syracuse look

The Orange Carpet scours SU to roll out the best of campus style (die, hoodies, die!).

Standing around with a group of friends, freshman Public Health and Psychology major Cassie Purcell stood out.  From her boots to her threads, we just had to know the secret behind her charming outfit! The boots and leggings from Victoria’s Secret, the white shirt and grey sweater from Old Navy, and H&M coat came together to create a look she calls “casual chic.”

We first spotted Cassie with her jacket on, but we loved her outfit even more with her jacket off. Her outfit screams Americanized Parisian. The grey, white, and black combo is simple and fresh. Even without bright colors her clothing is far from drab.

An up-close glance shows Cassie planned her look right down to the last detail. Her pink nails and turquoise ring added the right touch of color.

A touch of color

The black buckled boots gave her outfit a kick. They’re edgy and cute. With boots like these, you don’t have to sacrifice comfort.

Uggs be gone!

From head to toe, it’s clear Cassie set out to make a good fashionable impression on campus. When questioned about her motivation for dolling up, she smiled and said, “I’m meeting some sorority sisters for the first time.”

Note to girls out there: you don’t have to wear loud colors to get attention. Sometimes a subtle statement piece is all you need. So whip out those cool colors and add a twinkle to your look with accessories, nail polish, or even a different hairstyle. Anyone can wear a black down jacket and dark colored boots, but not everyone can pull them off like Cassie. So don’t hide behind your winter gear!
