Calvin Klein is known to be racy, so why would his latest watch and jewelry ad be any different? For the CK Calvin Klein Spring 2010 campaign, photographer Fabien Baron snapped model Mark Cox in the sand where there was no shortage of grease or sex appeal.
This definitely makes us want to watch
Technically speaking, the photos were beautiful and highlighted the watch and the jewelry within both the medium close-ups and the close-ups of just the items. However, we ended up getting lost in Cox’s eyes and are pretty sure we're not the only one.
Male appeal
The target audience is supposed to be men, since this is dealing with men’s watches and jewelry, right? Then again, maybe the ad is geared toward women who would just love for their significant other to look just as good as Mark Cox does in the CK gear.
Regardless, Calvin Klein’s formula never seems to change and why should it? It’s provocative, yet attention grabbing. People—or maybe it’s just me—tend to focus on a photo’s aesthetics rather than the actual product. While I won’t be buying male jewelry any time soon, it’s safe to say I can’t wait for his ads in the fall.
