The Craze: Stay Natural This Winter

The Craze is a trend report bringing you the latest (and, duh, the greatest) in beauty and style.

Any day now the infamous Syracuse weather will strike. The worst that can happen is our make-up smearing thanks to the weather. Who wants to rub their make-up after the snowflakes have melted on our faces? Let’s take a hint from the runway and try “natural” make-up before resorting to our usual make-up routines.

BCBG Max Azria

For their Fall/Winter 2010 collections, Rag & Bone, BCBG Max Azria, and Carolina Herrera have used barely-there products on their models. The goal is to look fresh-faced without trying too hard.

NARS

Confused about what shades to wear? Luckily, Too Faced has created eye palettes that provide 3 neutral looks, feel free to mix and match the colors. Each boxed set retails for $35 dollars. If eye-makeup isn’t your thing, you can always focus on blush for a rosy glow. Try NARS Orgasm blush—a peachy, pink shade for $26. Cheek stain is another alternative. Tarte has a collection of 1oz solid stains that will last a while. The $30 tubes come in a variety of shades, are easy to apply, and blend into the skin without seeming too obvious.

Whether or not you choose to wear make-up, remember to always moisturize your face and lips! The winter can be harsh on the skin and chapped lips will always be a fashion-no.
