Teachers Strike Back

This week in class, we discussed students putting too much information on sites like facebook and myspace. However, in a NYT article states that college professors are using these sites to become more affable to their students. These sites allow professors to establish a positive image of themselves and a glimpse into their personal lives. Also, MtvU created a television show called “Professors Strike Back” student criticism on RateMyProfessors.com

This gives professors a chance to challenge student perceptions of them. I think this interesting that this dialogue is happening outside of class.

Plink is the New Tag!

Instead of just tagging your friends in photos on Facebook, you can now identify items within the photos.

With Plink you are allowed to share retail information with friends and shop from what other’s have “tagged”. Plink users are given the option of purchasing what they like because the products link has been embedded in the photo.

This application will allow brands to have a greater presence within the social forum as well as be able to capture their consumers more efficiently. And for the consumer, it takes tagging to another level. Click here to not only learn more about Plink but to add the application.
