The Craze: Pretty in Peplum

The Craze is a trend report bringing you the latest (and, duh, the greatest) in beauty and style.

Way back in 2008, a little movie called Sex and the City hit theaters and seemingly set the stage for the next two years. From gladiator stilettos to straw fedoras, Sex and the City style is still setting trends after the series’ 1998 debut.

In this photo, Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw, is seen in a red, floral peplum dress . This vintage-inspired style looks great in almost any color or pattern. What we love about it is the feminine curvature you get, regardless of your shape. Surprisingly, adding that layer of fabric on top of the pencil skirt slims the waist.
