Cuse Closet: Pointed-toe therapy

Cuse Closet peeks inside the staff's wardrobes to find out where we're going and how good we look getting there.

Today's closet: Elton Wong

The cold air is starting to fill our lungs and fuel my love for fashion. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons for dressing. While we’ve seen a lot of features on how women work fashion on campus, I believe that men can work it too.

On gloomy days, my favorite pointed-toe shoes are my mood uplift. They’re very comfortable. If I could wear them everyday, I would, but it would be unfair to my other shoes. I think every man on campus should get a pair of nice shoes, something more than just for casual walking.

As a lover of the skinny jean, I think these shoes are the skinny’s best friend. The pants I chose today have a slight pattern to them, which gives them more personality than a pair of boring gray pants. The shoes and the pants together are a match made in fashion heaven.

For me, the best kind of shirt to match with any outfit is a classic v-neck tee. Since the ensemble is so simple, I often include a scarf to make the outfit more put together.

I think everyone needs a circle scarf in his or her wardrobe – it’s pure genius. It can be worn so many different ways and can keep you warm too! I have no accessories, no special colors, but this outfit is wearable for many occasions.

If the weather isn’t going to be fierce, well I better make sure my outfit is.

Fall Obsession: Scarves

Now that the the chilly weather is here, there are so many cold-weather accessories to break out for the season. Scarves are functional and fashionable and you can never have too many! Wearing a scarf is a great way to add warmth and spice to any outfit.

There are three kinds of must-need scarves this season. The first is the rectangular scarf which you fold in half and pull through. The second popular look this fall is the square scarf which you wrap around your neck and the two ends fall on each side. Last is the silk scarf, which will add a pop of color to your mostly dark and muted-colored fall wardrobe.

I obsessed with this one by Love Quotes (Top, $88) but as a college student on the budget, I'd rather not spend that much so I've been on the lookout for similar ones. For a cheaper alternative, Urban Outfitters offers this Pash Like Scarf (Bottom, $20) in a wide variety colors.

While this is not a new trend, a scarf is really a classic piece that is a definite must-have this fall. Are you a fan?

Scarf It Up!

I have come to notice that what once was just an accessory to keep you warm, has now become almost a staple to many outfits people wear. When I go out I tend to see people incorporating scarves into their outfit similar to the way Hannah Montana does. I personally am not a fan of wearing scarves as an integral part of my wardrobe but it has come to my attention how some people are completely obsessed. Just food for thought.
